Andrea Cervellin scores eight world championship points in GP of Europe
Andrea Cervellin of the SKS Polned TM Factory Team has scored eight world championship points in his home Grand Prix in Faenza, Italy. In front of all of his fans he managed to finish both motos in seventeenth position and scored eight world championship points. Nick Kouwenberg had to come back through the field in both motos after poor starts. Nick came close of scoring points in both motos but finally had to be satisfied with 22nd and 21st position respectively.
The SKS Polned TM Factory Team started the weekend positively on Saturday. Andrea and Nick were feeling themselves at home on the track. Andrea qualified himself in seventeenth position and Nick finished the qualifying heat in twentieth position.

Thousands of Italian fans were in Faenza to cheer on their riders. In the first moto Andrea took a decent start and came out of the first lap in nineteenth position. In the beginning of the race he worked himself up to sixteenth position and started to put the pressure on Glenn Coldenhoff. Andrea couldn't find a place to make a pass stick and got pressure from Ivo Monticelli in the closing stages of the race. Andrea kept the pace as high as he could but wasn't able to keep Monticelli behind him and finally finished the moto in seventeenth position. Nick Kouwenberg started the first moto with some bad luck. He made a crash in the opening lap and had to come back through the field. Nick was riding a consistent pace and passed one rider after another. In the closing stages of the race he had worked himself up to 22nd position and came close of scoring points. Unfortunately with still four laps to go something of his buddy seat broke off so he had to lower the pace a little bit. Nick kept the pace as high as he could and finished the race in 22nd position.
In the second moto it was Andrea who took a decent start again and he came out of the first lap in twelfth position. In the beginning he was riding in thirteenth position but during the race he lost several positions and finished the moto in seventeenth position again. Nick had a poor start and came out of the first lap in 26th position. During the race he passed several riders and came close of scoring points. He gave everything he had but finally he crossed the finish line in 21st position and didn't scored a world championship point.

Andrea finished in nineteenth position overall and Nick ended the day in 26th position. After fifteen rounds Andrea sits in 30th position in the championship standings and with still one round to go Nick is in 56th position in the championship. In two weeks time the series continues at Teutschenthal in Germany.
