From the Keiheuvel on Wednesday the Kemea Reytec Yamaha team went straight to the English Matterley Basin for the 13th GP of the season. There they would be part of the first mx festival, in a weekend where all FIM mx championships would take place. With more then 350 riders in the paddock the weekend was busy but fun, joined by a bright summer sun.
With the injuries of Kevin Fors and Nathan Renkens only half of the team was present in England. Ludovic Brevers was the first in action on Friday for his first race of the weekend. After an 18 th place in qualifying, Ludovic was motivated to score good points on this nice flowing track. In the first lap things went wrong though for him as he had a big crash. He rejoined the race and charged until the end. He crossed the finish line in 34th position.
The EMX 250 riders had to close the festival on Sunday. This time Ludovic got a better start and was 16th after 1 lap. Being close to the top 15 Ludovic tried his best to get into 15th but despite a late charge he finished on the 16th place. In the general standings Ludovic got 22nd and he is 19th now in the standings of the European Championship, with two more race to go.
Kenny Vandueren had the 20th gatepick on Sunday for the races. In moto 1 Keeny crossed the finish line in 17th position. With a handful of riders charging for the last points Kenny had to dig deep to eventually finish in 19th position, grabbing 2 points. In the second moto Kenny crashed in the first lap. He rejoined the race but decided to withdraw after a couple of laps. In the general standings Kenny finished 23th. He is now in 39th position in the World Championship while Kevin Fors is in 26th position.
